pretty little things

This weekend I was introduced to Little Big Planet and Journey (keep in mind that I am a non-gamer, so this is pretty new territory for me). OHMYGOODNESS. Both are beautifully done. Little Big Planet is great fun and so absolutely adorable that I may have peed my pants a little while playing it... But Journey is so, so, very pretty.  The music is beautiful, the color palette is lovely, the architecture is amazing, and the animation is gorgeous.  I really didn't even care what I was actually doing- actually, I'm fairly certain I didn't do anything productive... I just wanted to fly around and create bursts of glowing energy and make my scarf all sparkly :3  Yeah, it doesn't take much to make me happy.

Lucille

From Cool Hand Luke. Also, my car's name is Lucille.
Just a little typography warmup - because this weekend may or may not be dedicated to working on new self-promotional material. I haven't changed anything since I stopped selling on Etsy, so it's been a while...

keep it secret...

I've really never understood the whole "boob storage" thing... But, I was on a trip with a good friend of mine this past weekend, and while walking from the hotel to the KwikTrip down the road for some coffee - she slipped the hotel key away for safe keeping. I couldn't resist blurting out the perfect LotR quote for just such an occasion... WIN!

here come the scissors...

I think I need my bangs cut... I feel  like a sheepdog for cry-eye.  I don't think I can cut them myself again though - you'd think after doing it a fair number of times that I would be better at it, but that's definitely not the case...

mrow?

No, kitty. No, I do not need your help.  Ummm, there was supposed to be more to this comic, but I ran out of steam and it was just meant to be a super fast sketch anyways.  I really need to learn to keep these "quick" sketches quick, and not worry about making them perfect...
So, this is my goal for the rest of the year: one quick comic a week - and keep it loose!
Also, I plan on continuing with my monthly self-portraits - which should prove to be an interesting venture...
